TX-5 Classic Combo Organ
Introduction
The Ventura TX-5 Classic combo organ is the pinnacle of modeling technology. Featuring multiple organ models - Clean, Classic, Heavenly, Dirty, and Metallic - the TX-5 is the most versatile clonewheel organ available. The TX-5 Classic features unparalleled flexibility, as virtually all of its parameters can be adjusted to the most minute degree, and stored per program. Because of this flexibility, the TX-5 isn't just one organ, but 24 organs in one.
Five Organ Models
The customization doesn't end with each parameter, though; the TX-5 is designed with five distinct organ models on board: Clean, Classic, Heavenly, Dirty, and Metallic. The Clean, Classic, Heavenly, and Dirty models recreate varying degrees of tone and character, each with a unique characteristic such as tonewheel leakage to differentiate it. The Metallic model turns modeling on its ear, though, simulating a transistor organ tone within a tonewheel model.
Ultimate Control
The TX-5 Classic features two full sets of drawbars. Typically, each drawbar set is assigned to a dedicated manual, but with the TX-5, it's interchangeable. Using the TX-5 alone allows players to split the sound between two different sets of drawbars on the same manual. Connecting a MIDI controller such as the TX-5 Lower Manual transfers control of the lower manual to the controller, leaving the entire TX-5 keyboard as your upper manual.
Roundabout
Rotary simulation is integral to the tonewheel sound, and many companies are making strides in providing a realistic experience. Sometimes they stop short, though, offering only a few options for ramp up speeds. Professional organists know better than this, and so does Ventura. With the ability to control the slow and fast RPMs of both horns, their direction, and even virtual mic placement, the TX-5's rotary simulation is simply the best available.
